Who We Are – A Brief History

The TurkishVan breed was accepted into the CFA championship status in February, 1994. Several years of hard work preceeded the acceptance by a dedicated group of breeders organized for this purpose. Vantastix came into existence as a non profit organization to further the championship development of the Turkish Van in the cat fancy and to provide an association for the common interest of the Breeders.

Vantastix has the following goals:

Breeding to standards and registration of all Turkish Vans

  • Sponsor Rings and Rallys
  • Promote interest through slides, breed displays and literature
  • Cultivate friendship among the members
  • Publish a quarterly newsletter of important news and events
  • Advance interest in and welfare of all cats

With the establishment of the World Wide web, we strongly feel that our goals can be helped by this marvelous electronic form of communication. Read a detailed history of the club by Karen Hooker.
